REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR PRECANSKATE/CANSKATE AT CBN SC - PLEASE READ ALL VERY CAREFULLY!
At current time, we are only able to accept 40 skaters each of our Canskate sessions. Please read below very carefully, as this program has very strict guidelines that must be adhered to. Should these restrictions and guidelines change, we will post on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/cbnsc. Please check email frequently including spam, promotions and junk folders. We recommend doing any registering on a computer, rather than a phone.
*If you do not feel you can follow the guidelines listed below and in the other documents, please do not register, as there are no exceptions.Note also that the schedule is likely to change, however, the order in which the sessions are currently will not change.*

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) Skaters must have passed COMPLETE Pre Can to be permitted onto these sessions. If you have not completed Pre Can, it is on a separate session this season. Read more about it here: https://cbnskatingclub.uplifterinc.com/pages/How-to-register/Pre-Canskate-2020/
2) Skaters can skate at both rinks, and there is 50% discount on the second session to do so!
3) Your skater must register for the session they are eligible for based on the last complete badge passed. We may combine sessions or change structure depending on registration, and if we need your skater's group to change, we will let you know.
4) Checkmarks from your report card will carry over from FALL only.
However, if you have not skated in fall, ribbons and badges from last season will carry over, checkmarks do not.
4) All guidelines must be followed and waivers submitted! They will be attached to the registration email and are available here: https://cbnskatingclub.uplifterinc.com/pages/COVID-19-Policies-Info/
5) The waivers that must be submitted are the athlete screening and the Skate Canada waiver. Those must be printed, signed, and emailed back to skatingnotices@hotmail.com a week prior to skating. You will NOT be permitted to enter the ice surface without these submitted.
6) For registration purposes, we have split sessions into Stages 1-3, and Stages 4-6. Note that this may change depending on registration numbers and we may have to move your skater to a different session. The schedule is also subject to change depending on cleaning schedule changes and if there are other guideline changes, so it is wise to allow yourself some extra time on your skating day, just in case this should occur.
7) There is not an automatic switch to Stage 4-6 sessions if your skater passes Stage 3. We have capacity limits and other things to consider. If your skater passes Stage 3, Head Coach Jamie Seaward will personally reach out to you by email if they will be switching sessions, to let you know what options are available.
8) IF YOUR CHILD IS ILL, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO SKATING! You must be able to answer NO to every question, every time, to the health screening to be able to attend.
9) As per CHMO directions, masks must be worn around the rink for anyone 5 years+. They can removed for skaters if you wish, prior to entering the ice, but must be put back on as they leave.
10) Rink rules may be different at Bay Arena and Harbour Grace. Please make a note of which rules apply for which rink!
11) PLEASE RESPECT OUR VOLUNTEERS. THEY HAVE WORKED HARD, AND WILL BE WORKING HARD, TO PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR YOU, YOUR CHILD, COACHES, AND BOARD MEMBERS. PLEASE FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS GIVEN TO YOU BY VOLUNTEERS!!!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTERING FOR CANSKATE
1) Log into your Uplifter account ahead of time. Check your email address to ensure it is the correct one you'd like to receive information from. Ensure you are not opted out of emails, as this is our only way to contact you! Also delete all old Ice show measurements so they are blank.
2) Go to the registration page here: https://cbnskatingclub.uplifterinc.com/registration/ and select the Canskate option you would like. If you are going to skate at both rinks, choose both appropriate to their level. The discount will come off in the cart.
5) Go to: view cart and checkout and proceed.
HOW TO PAY
1) Payment can be made by credit card. We can do 4 installment payments by credit card ONLY.
2) EMT is accepted and should be sent to sctreasurer2017@hotmail.com. If you wish to pay by EMT, you must pay the ENTIRE amount at once. Installments are NOT available by EMT. In the EMT please indicate which skater and adult the EMT is for so we can match it up. The password to use is “payment” if it asks for one.
3) On the first payment of the installment, there will be a $43.65 Skate Canada Insurance fee for the skater included (if this has not been paid this season), plus the first of the four session installments ($39)
4) Remaining 3 installments of $39.00 will be deducted from the card on file on January 1, February 1, and March 1.
EQUIPMENT
1) A CSA hockey helmet is required. Bike helmets, snowboard helmets, etc are not permitted or accepted for on ice.
2) We do not recommend molded or "grow with me" skates. The grow with me skates have proven to be problematic quite often due to skaters toes hanging over the edge of their blades. A great skate for Canskaters is a Jackson Excel, but there are many kinds. You can go to Play it Again Sports in St. John's or High Performance Sports Equipment in CBS for proper fittings and advice!
3) Skates should be sharpened every 20 hours of skating, prior to the first day of skating, and whenever skates are purchased.
4) Do not store skates with skate guards on the blades, they will get rusty, and then need to be sharpened.
5) Fuzzy, chenille mittens are NOT permitted! They leave residue on the ice that is sticky, and a fall hazard for all skaters and coaches.
